Our Process

How it works

A straightforward process from start to finish.

  1. Structure consultation

Before any paperwork, we talk through your business plans, expected turnover, and personal circumstances to recommend the right legal structure. The decision between sole trader and limited company has lasting tax and legal implications — it's worth getting right.

  2. Incorporation

Once you've decided on a structure, we prepare and submit the incorporation documents to Companies House. We handle the memorandum and articles of association, director and shareholder details, and share structure.

  3. HMRC registrations

We register the company for Corporation Tax and, where needed, for PAYE and VAT. We also advise on the timing of VAT registration if you're not yet over the threshold but voluntary registration would be beneficial.

  4. Handover and next steps

You receive your certificate of incorporation, company registration number, and a clear summary of your obligations and key dates. We then move you into ongoing accounts or tax services so nothing gets missed.

Forming a company is straightforward when you know what you’re doing — but the decisions you make at the start have consequences that follow you for years. The wrong legal structure, missed HMRC registrations, or an unsuitable share arrangement can create complications down the line that are expensive to unwind.

We handle company formation as a joined-up service: structure advice first, then incorporation, then all the necessary HMRC registrations. We don’t just file the paperwork — we make sure you understand what you’re forming, what your obligations are from day one, and how to structure directors’ salaries and dividends in a way that’s tax-efficient from the outset.

For clients moving from sole trader to limited company, the transition needs careful timing. We manage the practical steps — closing down the sole trader for tax purposes, transferring assets where relevant, and making sure HMRC is updated — so the switch is clean and nothing falls through the gaps.
